Exercise During HCG Program
"Pounds & Inches" Pg. 28 & 29 Muscular Fatigue
Towards the end of a full course, when a good deal of fat has been rapidly lost, some patients complain that lifting a weight or climbing stairs requires a greater muscular effort than before. They feel neither breathlessness nor exhaustion but simply that their muscles have to work harder. This phenomenon, which disappears soon after the end of the treatment, is caused by the removal of abnormal fat deposited between, in, and around the muscles. The removal of this fat makes the muscles too long, and so in order to achieve a certain skeletal movement - say the bending of an arm - the muscles have to perform greater contraction than before. Within a short while the muscle adjusts itself perfectly to the new situation, but under HCG the loss of fat is so rapid that this adjustment cannot keep up with it. Patients often have to be reassured that this does not mean that they are “getting weak”. This phenomenon does not occur in patients who regularly take vigorous exercise and continue to do so during treatment.
Here at HCG Renew, we recommend that if you were exercising before the HCG Renew Program that you continue to do so. If you start to feel fatigued, try lowering the intensity of your workouts. If you have not yet started an exercise program, try doing some walking or light weight lifting. This will only increase your results and your over all well-being!
Good luck on your weight loss journey. Continue pressing forward...remember, "Regain control of your weight and you will Renew your life!"
The Emotional Effects of Obesity
But what about the negative impact that obesity can have on a person that is less tangible? As it turns out, research has shown that the emotional effects of obesity can be even harder on people than the physical effects. In fact, the psychological suffering that many obese people go through is often the most painful part of being overweight.
Let’s face it: we live in a country that values physical beauty, emphasizing on outward appearances. Our society tends to link being "thin" with being "attractive", especially if you are a woman. As a result, if you are overweight, you hear these messages, spoken or not, and end up feeling unattractive.
Obese and overweight people also tend to be discriminated against, oftentimes by those who genuinely have no idea they are doing it. It’s not uncommon to hear stories of obese people having to wait longer to get helped at a department store, or having people stare at them as they go grocery shopping or eat in restaurants. Obese people often report feeling as if others feel they are lazy or deserving of being heavy, because they are obviously lacking in willpower. It really does seem to be the case that discrimination against overweight and obese people is the one “socially acceptable” form that we have left in our society. But just like other forms of discrimination, it can have very real and lasting effects on those targeted.
The emotional issues that being overweight or obese may include: low self-esteem, social withdrawal, and at times, even thoughts of suicide. Many feel anxious and depressed, often because they feel like they are undesirable. Losing weight can be very difficult, and finding the inspiration and emotional or physical strength to get out and exercise oftentimes is an uphill battle. A lot of obese people don’t care to join health clubs because they feel intimidated by the thinner people who are there working out.
In a study of obesity, obese subjects were given a “forced choice questionnaire”, which involved having to make a choice between being at their current weight or having some type of illness. In general, most obese people interviewed indicated that they would rather have a leg amputated or be blind than be at their current weight. Interestingly, every subject said they would rather be poor and thin than morbidly obese and a millionaire.
The HCG Renew Program has already helped hundreds of people shed those extra pounds to no longer feel the negative self-esteem issues associated with being obese. Our easy-to-follow Program and menu plans can help you Regain control of your weight and Renew your life!

Obesity and Diabetes – The Problem and The Cure
In fact, just as the obesity rate has exploded in our culture, so has the escalation of chronic deadly diseases. (For an eye-popping video showing how Obesity has become an epidemic, see: Real Scary Obesity Trends in America)
For some, the risks associated with obesity are severe enough to warrant radical solutions such as gastric bypass surgery, Lap-Band surgery, or other types of obesity surgery. The medical complications that could result from these extreme measures are severe in and of themselves, but when weighing the pros and cons, remaining obese in some cases is a worse option than undergoing surgery.
But the HCG Diet Protocol, researched and developed over 60 years ago by Dr. Simeons, is a safe, effective alternative that can cure obesity without surgery or other invasive procedures (like liposuction, etc.).
With hundreds of thousands of success stories and a near 100% success rate, the HCG Protocol should be the FIRST thing one does to correct the problem of obesity and in almost all cases, will be the LAST.
And if you have Diabetes due to obesity, don’t be surprised if the newly transformed body that you get with the HCG Diet no longer needs Diabetes medications, because many, many people that have completed the HCG Protocol find they have cured themselves of Diabetes as well.
If you are obese with diabetes, you owe it to yourself to look into the HCG weight loss protocol as a potential cure for your condition – it’s worked for thousands of people over many decades.
The Purpose Of The Loading Phase And 10 Tips To Successful Binge Days!!!
First, the loading days help you build up calories in your body. Since you are only eating 500 calories of consumable food your body will rely on the HCG to help provide the rest of your needed calories through the release of your current fat storages. It can take up to 6 days for HCG to be at the right potency in your body to create this process. So the calories you build up on your binge days will help you during the first few days of the VLCD phase of program. The first week is always the hardest because you well feel a little more hungry and tired than you will for the rest of the cycle. If you don't eat properly during the loading days you will only be more tired and hungry than is necessary.
Second, the loading days help you boost your metabolism. Because of the huge influx of calories you are taking in during the binge days your metabolism naturally speeds up to try to break down all of the food that you have just consumed. When on the 3rd day you drop it to 500 calories you will start lose weight immediately despite putting on weight during the loading days you will lose that weight and quite a bit more the first few days.
Top 10 Tip While Loading
It is not recommended to work out during the first week of the HCG program. You have built up calories to help you until the HCG kicks in and if you exercise it will burn off needed calories.
Apply lotions and moisturizers as often as possible.
Try to eat every 1 to 2 hrs.
Eat rich fatty foods that are calorie dense like avocados, bacon, cheesecake, and all types of dairy.
Add olive oil to as much of your food as possible.
Try to avoid sweet sugary foods like candy or soda. Not that you can't have these they just take up room in your stomach.
Eat the foods that you know that you will be craving later.
Eat at your favorite buffets or restaurants.
Add butter (not margarine) to as much of your food as possible.
Make sure to start your loading phase when you will be able to eat lots of food for two days straight.

Gaining a Pound a Year After Age 20 Nearly Doubles Women's Breast Cancer Risk
By Deborah Kotz
Gaining a pound or two a year after age 20 is the norm for most Americans, which explains why two-thirds of us are overweight by the time we hit our 50s. Not only does that put us at increased risk of heart disease and diabetes, but it can also increase a woman's chances of developing postmenopausal breast cancer. A new National Cancer Institute study of 72,000 women found that those who had a normal body mass index at age 20 and gained through the decades to become overweight--an increase of at least 5 BMI units, which is equivalent to a 30- pound gain for a 5- foot, 4- inch woman--had nearly double the risk of developing breast cancer after menopause compared to women who kept their weight steady as they aged. (The average 60- year-old woman's risk of developing breast cancer by age 65 is about 2 percent; her lifetime risk is 13 percent.)
"Weight gain is a major risk factor for breast cancer," and could play as much of a role as other known risk factors, like family history of cancer, or the age at first menstruation or childbirth, says study coauthor Regina Ziegler, an epidemiologist at NCI. That's probably because the accumulation of excess body fat over time increases the level of estrogen in the body, which is thought to fuel the growth of most postmenopausal breast cancer tumors. Interestingly, the study also found that women who started off overweight or obese at age 20 didn't have any increase in breast cancer risk, which contradicts other research showing that obesity increases the risk of postmenopausal breast cancer as well as several other cancers including colon, endometrial, kidney, and esophageal, according to the NCI's website.
Unfortunately, few women are able to maintain their post-college dress size, a testament to how tough it is to prevent that mid-life bulge. (Nearly 57 percent of the study participants failed to do so.) "As you progress through mid-life, you'll find your metabolism naturally slows down," says Jana Klauer, a New York City physician and nutritionist specializing in obesity treatment and author of How the Rich Get Thin. In other words, if you maintain the same Big Mac habits you had in college, you'll pack on pounds. So what does it take to keep the scale steady? "A lot of effort," says Klauer. Here are her 7 steps for beating the odds:
1. Cut back on calories. "Your metabolic rate peaks in your 20s," says Klauer, because your body is still adding bone mass and churning out a lot of hormones to keep you fertile. After age 30, your metabolism slows by about 5 to 7 percent per decade. That means if you were eating about 2,500 calories per day to maintain your weight in your 20s, you'd have to eat about 125 to 175 fewer calories each day to keep the scale from inching upward. By the time you hit your 50s, you'd need to cut back by 300 to 500 calories a day to keep the same waistline you had in your 20s.
2. Sweat, sweat, sweat. If you don't want to cut your food intake too much, increase your calorie-burning activities. Those who aren't counting calories probably need to exercise for about an hour each day, every day of the week to truly keep the pounds off, according to a recent study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. The researchers looked at 34,000 nondieting women (average age 54) and found that those who worked out for an hour a day--the equivalent of a brisk walk--kept themselves slim through the years. While those who worked out less gained weight, they still benefitted from lower risks of heart disease and diabetes, compared to their sedentary counterparts.
3. Lift weights. Muscle burns more calories than fat, so building muscle helps keep your metabolism revved up as you age. Unfortunately, your body begins to shed muscle in your 40s if you don't do anything to maintain it. Doing resistance training with free weights or weight machines at the gym three or four days a week can go a long way towards helping you retain muscle and boost your metabolism. Klauer recommends hiring a personal trainer for three or four sessions to learn the proper form and prevent injuries.
4. Be wary of hormonal birth control. Birth control pills, intrauterine devices that release progesterone, and especially the progesterone-only shot, Depo-Provera, can cause weight gain in some women. A 2009 study published in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology found that women who used the Depo shot gained an average of 11 pounds over three years compared to an average gain of 3 to 4 pounds among women who used other forms of contraception. But the study also found that only 25 percent of Depo users gained a significant amount of weight, and Klauer says the same holds true for other forms of hormonal contraception. For example, some women gain 15 pounds on a particular brand of pill, while others don't. "It's extremely individual and probably related to genetics," she adds. If you're taking hormones and have noticed recent weight gain of five or ten pounds with no obvious explanation, she says, you might want to try switching to a different formulation to see if that helps.
5. Get an optimal amount of sleep. Research has shown that getting too little or too much sleep increases a person's risk of heart disease and metabolic syndrome, a precursor to diabetes. Getting an adequate amount of sleep, says Klauer, ensures that your body produces enough leptin, a hormone released during deep sleep that regulates your hunger drive. That's why sleep deprivation tends to lead to overeating. While most adults need about 7 to 8 hours of shut-eye each night, some of us require a bit more or a bit less. How to tell how much you need? Go to bed a few nights in a row without an alarm clock and see what time you naturally wake up the next morning. (Best to try this when you don't need to make an early flight or work meeting!)
6. Eat six mini-meals a day. Klauer recommends eating one small meal every three hours to help curb those hunger pangs that trigger overeating. Research also suggests that eating mini-meals at regular times throughout the day boosts metabolism and balances blood sugar levels. Mini-meals should be about 250 to 300 calories consisting of a mixture of carbohydrates, protein, and a dollop of fat. Some nutritious ideas: two slices of turkey breast with lettuce and tomato on whole-wheat bread; a mixed-green salad topped with strawberries, sliced pears, and a serving of sliced almonds; one bowl of high-fiber cereal and a cup of light yogurt.
7. Weigh yourself regularly. While you don't want to be a slave to your scale, weighing yourself a few times a week can help you keep track of weight gain and reverse course before you find you can't button your favorite jeans. Need proof? A 2006 study from Cornell University found that college freshmen who were told to weigh themselves every morning gained almost no weight during the school year compared with a 7-pound gain for those who weren't given a scale.
Don't Just Lose Weight, Reshape Your Body!
Often when we at HCG Renew hear stated about the HCG Program, “Anyone eating only 500 calories will lose weight!” Our answer to that is "Your right!" Study after study will show that people on a very low calorie diet (VLCD) will in fact lose weight… even without HCG.
This diet is not just about losing weight (of course that’s one of the great benefits), it’s about becoming more healthy and reshaping your body.
A VLCD without HCG will result in loss of lean muscle mass. Losing lean muscle will result in a lowered metabolism and weight gain when you’re off the VLCD. The more lean muscle mass your body has the more calories it must burn to sustain it! After successfully completing the HCG program you will experience a hypothalamus "reset" which in turn will also increase your metabolism. Thus, keeping the weight off!
The HCG program has many other benefits:
Reshapes Your Body – The HCG program helps release your "abnormal fat deposits", or the “Hard to Lose areas”.
No Sagging – The HCG program protects the structural fat, resulting in taut, smooth skin.
Curb Your Appetite – Without the HCG program, people on a VLCD experience hunger and fatigue. The HCG program helps to suppress your appetite and hunger pains.
Will not gain weight back - Because you’re maintaining lean muscle mass, while using the HCG program, you’re metabolism remain high. When you finish the HCG program the weight stays off.
Less Meds - Many people have been able to reduce their med intake or even stop taking them altogether! (always check with your doctor before changing your med dosage).
Bottom Line:
The HCG program has many wonderful benefits that will help you lose weight, reshape your body and keep the weight off.

HCG Diet - What Are Loading Days and is it Really Important For Doing the HCG Diet?
Dr. Simeons who developed the diet, instructed dieters to "load" with fats for two days while starting the HCG.
1) He said it would help decrease hunger and it really does. Dieting is hard enough without being hungry.
2) Some studies were done that show those who "load" correctly, actually lose more weight. As you know, the HCG Diet is a very low fat diet.
If you load well with fats, you can lose 10-12 pounds the first week. Amazing, isn't it? Later on you will only lose 1/2 a pound to 1 pound per day. Can you imagine someone telling you that to do a diet, you must fatten up? You want to do it inside and out, with fatty foods and lotions.
So for two days, you can eat all the foods you might be craving later. But to do it well, forget sugary foods and focus on fats. Can you imagine that you are going to lose a heck of a lot of weight, but first you should eat fats? It sounds crazy.
If you want to do it right, eat fats that are good for you. Cook with olive oil or other good oils. Avoid hydrogenated oils like Crisco. Think Atkin's diet and eat all the meat, cheese, eggs and bacon you want. I know those are not the best fats, but you will be wanting some of them later on. If you like hamburgers, hot dogs, and ice cream, now is your chance to load up. Eat pizza loaded with cheese and even pepperoni. These also aren't the best foods for you, but it's only for 2 days. And if you are overweight, you've probably been eating some of these foods anyway.
For a better food choice, do you like salmon? I had never fixed it until recent years. If you broil it in the oven with some barbeque sauce it is really good. Broil 5 minutes or so until well browned. Salmon is high in omega-3. So is tuna. Load up on protein. Don't just eat junk. Cake and cookies have fat, too. But eat "white meat" pork chops. Eat ham and eggs. Go to a restaurant and have hash browns with a cheese and ham omelet. Have your favorite T-bone steak and eggs.
Also, slather lotions and oils on your skin, as now is your chance. Take vitamin E, A and omega-3 fish oil. Eat walnuts for omega-3 and other nuts, too. Your body needs oils for joints, for skin and hair. Once you are on the diet, you are going to eat as fat free or low fat as possible.
Fats are used to store energy. They are high-energy yielding molecules and necessary for good health. They help with absorbing nutrients and good fats give us better cholesterol. Like the essential amino acids, these fatty acids are essential to our diets because the body cannot produce them.
So after the diet, you are going to be able to eat fats again and it is necessary that you do. You will go three weeks after the diet, eating no sugars or starches to maintain your weight loss and develop a new set point, but that will be the time to stock up on vitamins and good fats again. Try to educate yourself on good fats and you will naturally live a healthier life style. And best of all, you will weigh a lot less. The HCG Diet is excellent for taking off weight quickly, but it is important to know and understand how the diet works and how to follow it best.
Wouldn't it be fun to go to a spa in Rome, Italy and have your foods prepared for you? Go shopping or sightseeing during the day and come back for more great foods prepared for you? The move stars used to do just that. But since you are probably doing this diet alone or with a clinic, it's not so easy.
So, don't skip on "loading days." You want to get enough HCG in your system so you won't be hungry and so you lose as quickly as possible.

IT'S NOT HOW MUCH YOU LOSE... IT'S HOW MUCH YOU KEEP OFF!!!
Did you know? That while on the HCG program your skin absorbs oils or fats and treats them as though you have eaten them? If you touch or consume external fats your body will burn them first and you will have just missed an opportunity to burn your "locked down" fat which is the whole goal of being of this program. Please be mindful to use latex gloves when cooking for your family, doing dishes or housework. Doing this simple thing can have a major impact your weight loss.
Did you know? That your Hypothalamus gland needs a minimum of 21 days (or three weeks) straight of no external oils, fats, sugars, or starches (except those allowed in the protocol) to receive a full reset?
Did you know? That while on the 500 VLCD phase you are restricting all other access to external sources of fat until your body has no other choice but to burn your abnormal fat that you could never get rid of by diet and exercise alone?
Did you know? That when you are on the 500 VLCD phase you are NOT allowed to just consume any 500 calories a day? The foods on the "Daily Diet Outline"(found on pg. 5 of your Reference Guide) are the only approved calorie source you can consume on a daily basis. This list has been researched for decades and has proven by time to give you the best results. By sticking to this list (and only this list) you will have the most success and the best chance at resetting your Hypothalamus gland.
We at HCG Renew hope these tips help. Remember, It's not how much weight you lose but how much you keep off! We have read so many of your inspiring emails and comments on our blog sites. Our clients are truly amazing people that are not just losing weight they are Renewing their life's!

Top 10 Tips For Success
- Check your Spices! Spices must be used with extreme caution. Check all ingredients for any unallowable foods, any form of sugar (brown, white, maltose, dextrose, etc.), starch (modified corn starch), and/or any kind of vegetable oil. (i.e. garlic salt or taco seasoning can have sugar and modified corn starch… not acceptable!)
- Load up on enough fat during the binge phase (first two days using the HCG Renew program). If you do not you may experience hunger and associated crankiness during the first week of the program.
- Use Stevia to satisfy sugar cravings. Try mixing a few Stevia Drinks found in the recipe book supplied with your order.
- DO NOT DRINK ANYTHING WITH ASPARTAME! It’s very important to stay away from Diet Sodas or any source of aspartame or other artificial sweeteners. Also, you need to stay away from all forms of MSG (monosodium glutamate). Aspartame and MSG can and will cross the blood-brain barrier affecting the hypothalamus which will actually make you feel more hungry and give you only a partial "re-set" of your hypothalamus.
- Drink lots of water but not too much water. depending on your body size you will want to stay around 1 gal. per day. Too much water and your electrolytes can be thrown out of balance causing dizziness, black-outs, increased heart rate, or headaches.
- Make sure only 96%+ lean beef is used. Many participants can quicken weight loss by eating less beef and more chicken or allowable fish/seafood, in particular.
- Remove all unnecessary oils, fats, sugars, and starches from your diet. This includes what you put on your skin as well. Products such as makeup, lotions, moisturizers, deodorants, soaps, and hair care products need to be examined also (refer to your HCG Renew reference guide found on page 7 & 8)
- Do not to eat the same protein, fruit, and vegetable for both lunch and dinner. Food selections are to be varied.
- When you weigh yourself be sure to be in the same type of clothing. Not doing so causes undue concern and confusion or false appearance of weight gain/loss.
- Avoid restaurants. To a large degree the meats have been “juiced” or manipulated to be more flavorful, tender or juicy, with a multitude of processes that could easily slow or reverse your weight loss, particularly chicken.
Can Obesity Keep You from Getting a Job
Obesity, sometimes even more so than drinking or smoking, carries a negative stigma. It's associated with laziness, compulsory behavior and lack of willpower, all of which are negative characteristics in the workplace. When your obesity keeps you from getting a job, it's certainly a form of discrimination, but it's a reality we all have to face.
According to a scientific Cornell study, obesity has less of an impact on securing entry-level and mid-management jobs than executive-level positions. When you reach the upper echelons of corporate life, you enter a highly visible station and therefore your appearance matters more. Corporations want to put their best foot forward with their employees and are thus less likely to hire the obese. This stigma also extends to promotions, which are statistically more difficult to earn when you're overweight.
Believe it or not, there are now business coaches who focus their entire practice on helping people lose weight for occupational reasons. These people are willing to shape up their lives to protect their financial situation - if not their health - and losing weight often requires the assistance of a professional. When faced with the reality that obesity can keep you from getting a job, many professionals are willing to hold the salt and the butter.
If you're looking to lose weight in order to improve your chances of gainful employment, here are a few tips:
Be Professional
Business weight coach Brian Leffing encourages his clients to approach weight loss like a professional. Obesity can keep you from getting a job just like being late to work or a drop in productivity, so he believes that if you tackle weight loss like you would any other professional obstacle, you'll experience better results.
This might include keeping a weight loss journal or finding an accountability partner. Leffing encourages you to set goals for yourself just as you would with any other work-related endeavor.
Create a Schedule
Central to losing weight, according to Leffing, is establishing a routine to which you'll eventually grow accustomed. For example, some people attempt to lose weight by scheduling a walk during their afternoon lunch break. Obesity might keep you from getting a job, but your own will power will keep you from failing. Once a routine is established, it'll become second nature.
Become a Clothes Horse
One of the best ways to feel good about your weight loss progress is to dress in clothes that accentuate your new body. When you reach a weight loss milestone, purchase a new pair of pants or a flattering sweater that will force you to realize that you are reaching your goals.
